摘要: Behavior isthe result of adaptation to the environment of each species, ranging form yeastto human. The development of systems biology and high-throughput sequencingprovides us the opportunity to investigate the mechanisms of behavior at thegenomic level. There will be two topicscovered in this talk. First, through the analysis of circadian next-generationsequencing data and metabolic cycling data, I will describe the important roleof controlling energetic cost in the rhythmic behavior of gene expression. Thesecond focus is identifying genes that are correlated with resting state brainactivity through the analysis of both human transcriptome and fMRI datasets. Asthe molecular basis for functional brain activity is not clear, theidentification of these genes could potentially bridge the gap betweenmolecular and functional brain activity and have implications for the molecularmechanisms of autism spectrum disorder. These studies demonstrate thepower of large-scale datasets and systems biology approaches in understandingimportant biological questions.
